My most important personal possession to me not including members of my family is: the internet. It is saving my face. Life’s outlook looked so gloomy at times. I remember going to college when I was younger and having to get up early and walk into very cold weather that I could not stand. I would get sick, or my children would get sick. In the middle of the night trying to do my work then bring them to a babysitter—in the cold, really worried me. I was so unsettled because of the weather up here. All I thought about was my children’s health and my grades, and how in the world I would be able to get my work to my teachers on time. Going out; then, coming back home around 1 a.m. in the morning after being at the Yale library in the dark, freezing cold made it even worst.
Today with the internet, I can go to college, do my homework, research, and even submit my work online. I can communicate with the ones I need at anytime of day. I used to have to get up and travel just to communicate with someone effectively but the internet is saving my time a whole lot. I appreciate it and thank God for the people who created this internet. It is truly an amazing creation and it is one of the most valued material possessions in my life.
