I request each and every Fanbox user to share their own experience as I'm deadly sure that scammers must have send the same mails to many others.
Let your voice be heard ...
thanks for raising such a sensitive issue. i didnt receive any mail like this .... but its really serious if someone is trying to spoil the Fanbox community ...
Thank you $h@mood G for making this known. I have not received this one but I do get people trying to get me to private email them all the time (many in FanBox report receiving those) and both I and a friend of mine here received mail purporting to represent the estate of someone is my last name (and my friends last name - imagine that!) for whom we were supposedly probably the last living relatives (and they found us on FanBox - double imagine that). It would be funny except as madsha says, it's a shame these people think they can come in and spoil our community. I'm with you, - let's get rid of them.
thanks dear Gerry,
for your positive comments. this kind of black sheep always try to spoil the community around them.
thanks for joining hands to eradicate these cyber criminals.
Well the best way not to bother yourself is just simply ignore thanks nice post
quite right but we should try to warn other community members about such threats.
This is a real scam...yes, sure a lot of FanBoxers have received the same message.
Thank you for the alert. Thanks for the heads up!

thanks for sharing! I also recieve emails but not in fanbox i guess its better to ignore it!
I must applaud you my friend $h@mood G for posting this scam alert that's operating in Fanbox. I just come to know about this blog today. It has been 15 months since you posted it. I hope some actions have already been taken up against the culprits by Fanbox administrators or the relevant authorities. I am hoping the hands of law have already caught up with the fraudsters. If so, please let us know the outcome or the situation. You have done the right thing to post this alert and share the info with friends. This is best deterrent against undesirable elements. We don't want to have these elements in our midst..
Thanks for your support and your detailed feedback.
There is also another one claiming that someone with your same last name died and you have an inheritance coming and they need for you to give out your bank account info to receive the money. These are very easy to spot scams. Remember to be a legitimate business you want it to be a public company, good rating, must sell some type of product or service in return for your investment. Must be accessible by everyone.
I have seen other legitimate businesses on here which give people other opportunities as well. This is a definite scam for sure but be careful about placing scam flags on legitimate businesses. Just keep that in mind.
yes, you're absolutely right; but a frequent web user can easily distinguish between the spam/scam message and a legitimate one. Am I right..?
You can instantly spot a typical scam email by applying 2 simple tests, or checking on certain features, such as:
1- If you email address does not appear as the recipient, you're mostly to be one of the hundreds of recipients of the same email.
2- The sender uses a free email. This is too common. Sender of unsolicited emails do not have official email address with a corporate name as the dormant name or the official website.
These two tests are enough to tell you if you must send the email to the spam folder if not the garbage.
Absolutely right you're and many thanks for the tips.
