KARACHI: Doctors in Pakistan are fighting to save the life

Pressure is piling up on Misbah-ul-Haq to justify his place in Pakistan’s one-day squad after the senior batsman failed to inspire his team in the four-match ODI series against England which concluded in Dubai on Tuesday night.
Well-placed sources told ‘The News’ that Pakistan’s cricket chiefs are having serious second thoughts about retaining the aging Misbah in the one-day and Twenty20 International squads ahead of next month’s Asia Cup in Bangladesh.
Misbah, 37, was unable to impress much in the one-day series against England after Pakistan demolished the world numbers ones in the Test format.
Critics believe that Misbah may be a bit too old for the limited-overs game and are also of the view that Pakistan could be better off under a new captain as they plan to build the side for World Cup 2015 to be held in Australia
