Famous Bengali,Pakistani Actress Shabnam on Monday has arrived Pakistan from Bangladesh on the invitation of Pakistan Television Network (PTV).

Talking to media at Karachi Airport Shabnam said she was very happy on her visit to Pakistan and she was here on the invitation of PTV.

The legend actress was accompanied by her husband Robin Gosh.

Shabnam was active in the Pakistani film industry, Lollywood in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, and in the Bangladeshi film industry in the 1990s. Born in Dhaka formerly a part of Pakistan called East Pakistan, she was considered a versatile, romantic and most popular actress in both West Pakistan and East Pakistan in her time.

She shot to fame with the hit Bengali film “Harano Din” 1961 and attained all Pakistan stardom with the box office Urdu hit “Chanda” 1962. Both the films were produced from Dhaka Bangladesh, then a part of Pakistan


Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Asif on Friday said there had been no evidence for his conviction in Britain for corruption and spot-fixing, a day after he was released following six months in prison. "I spent the six months under difficult circumstances," Asif told Pakistan's Geo television in London, in his first public remarks since being freed from Canterbury jail on Thursday after serving half his 12-month prison term. Asif, who was released from jail in Britain on Thursday, has thanked his family members, friends and fans for supporting and encouraging him during his imprisonment. Recalling movements from the jail term, the former fast bowler of the Pakistani team said he would call to his house back in Pakistan twice or thrice a day. He would play soccer and badminton instead of cricket. In his first media interaction, Muhammad Asif said that
