My daughter's name is Amy. She is 20 years old and is attending by appointment to The United States Military Academy, in West Point, NY. This is her second year. She is my hero. At 16 she visited West Point and called me up and said, "Mom, I have found where I am going to school". Then she said, "Mom, I stepped on the grounds of West Point and knew this is where I belong." She did not know at the time all that would be required of her and how competitive it was to be selected to attend a Military Academy, but once she found out she hit the road to the Academy full steam ahead. I could go on for days about all the work and sacrifices she made in high school, all the fun things she gave up because she felt her calling and saw the big picture. Amy is the only women to be appointed to West Point from The Weedsport Central School district.
