My Meeting with American Idol Finalists and Executives

Yesterday I went to meet with the six American Idol finalists and the executives who are in charge of selecting the song that will be sung for the finale, as well as the songs which will be on the album for the winner. I was invited to attend the brief as one of the songwriters who will be submitting songs to be selected.

Today is a birthday I will always remember. So many birthdays before, but never was there a gift as precious as the one I got today. 

From the moment it turned midnight I knew this birthday was going to be special. Some that have known me from my past might point out the birthdays that I was blessed to experience in foreign exotic countries, or on stage with screaming fans, or in extravagant environments where money isn't even close to an issue.  So what did I get this birthday that topped all of the previous ones?

Every morning when I wake up, like clockwork I have been doing the same routine. The first thing I do is write in my journal while I'm barely awake, mostly half asleep. THANKFUL

1. I'm thankful for being able to stay home and make music every day and every hour if I want to. 

2. I'm thankful for having reliable transportation of my own.

3. I'm thankful for the experience of having to take public transportation, so that I can appreciate the car I have now.

4. I'm thankful I have a clean, warm place to live where I feel safe and it feels like a real home. I'm thankful I've experienced living in places where
