Personal Growth

by Ginger Laroy Fe on April 18, 2012

This is my journey mine alone.  Others may walk it with me, but no one can walk it for me.  These truths inspire, motivate and remind me that I’m not confined by the boundaries of others.  I am in full control of your own life, starting today.

I can only be me.  I refuse to allow anyone else’s idea of perfect to influence me. I will maintain my own imperfectly perfect self.  I will be ME.  When they laugh at me for being different, I will laugh back at them for being the same. “I am the only first rate version of myself.  I refuse to be reduced to becoming a second rate version of somebody else.”  There is no such thing as living in someone else’s shoes.  The only shoes I can or will occupy are my own. If I’m not myself I’m not truly living merely existing.

This is my life, and my dreams are worth it.  My life is a courageous journey or nothing at all.  I cannot become whom anyone else wants of me so I continue to do exactly what I chose.  When I am passionate about something I will pursue it no matter what anyone else thinks.  That’s how dreams are achieved.

I am deaf when people tell me that I can’t fulfill my dreams.  The only place where my goals and dreams are impossible is inside my head.  Once I’ve dreamed of it, I’m halfway there.  All I need to do from there is go ahead and follow through.

My dreams are bigger than my fears and my actions louder than my words.  Following my heart regardless of what others tell me is the mission upon which I embark at the end I will live with my decisions, not them.

In reading ‘The Road Less Traveled’ I learned that everything, good or bad, is a life lesson. – Everyone I meet, everything I encounter are all part of a learning experience I’ll call ‘life.’  Never again will I forget to acknowledge the lesson, especially when things don’t go my way.  If I don’t get a job that I wanted or a relationship doesn’t work, it only means something better is out there waiting.  And the lesson I just learned is the first step towards it. There are no mistakes only lessons.  I Love myself, trust my choices, and will remember I deserve the best and will keep pushing forward.

A few REAL friends are all I need.  When it comes to relationships I will focus on quality over quantity.  Spending my time with friends who love and appreciate and who encourage me to improve in healthy and exciting ways is my duty.  My friends are the ones, who make me feel more alive, and not only embrace that which I am now, but also embrace and embody who I want to be, unconditionally.  I will from here out spend my time with those who make me smile and less with those who I feel pressured to impress.  These people make my day a little bit brighter simply by being in it.  It is better to have one true friend than all the acquaintances in the world.

My actions and words directly affect the lives
