My Ladybird comes each morning

Sometimes, as we wander through our lives, someone crosses our path, and places an indelible mark on our hearts and minds.  For me it is exceedingly rare to have encountered such a deep and lasting friendship, as the one that inspired me to write the following prose.  I wrote this for a dear friend as a surprise birthday present (this is the first poem/prose I have written).  The strange thing is, although we've never met in person, and we live half a world apart. thanks to email, it's as though we are sitting beside one another during our many exchanges.  I hope you enjoy the prose as much as my dear friend did upon first reading it.

My ladybird comes each morning

My ladybird comes each morning
Telling tales of her many exploits
I listen intently to her sweet songs
Sung for my ears only.

Touching my heart

Never worry about tomorrow, my friend

God will send the rising of the sun,

Do not anguish over past mistakes

That can never be undone.

Never waste a single precious moment
