2012 Year In Review

by Daphne Alvarez on December 22, 2012

I should probably review this year that we are almost over with, 2012.  You know as nice as the year sounds, I can't say that there are much events in the year that has passed that are monumental and spectacular.  2012 was the year every one was talking about and now that we have lived it, we move onto to the next one.  December 21, 2012 was supposedly the doomsday that the media spoofed but people still do not even get their facts straight on the year and status updates are a tangent on Facebook or even in daily life that we all survived.  OOh well, give me a new date to "look forward to" and relive it all over again.  Hear the sarcasim.... I bet you do.

Well. 2012 started off a bit on a rocky start.  I went to my Aunt's funeral and then a week or two later my grandma passes and then life turns upside down.  Funerals became the norm for at least my last half of the winter.  Black became a usual color and I was praying a lot and moving on with life.  I eventually got used to my grandma not being around any more.  Once we cleaned the materials/clothes from her room, the house felt a lot more lighter and the grief soon passed.  However, it was also the beginnnings of difficulty sleeping.  I was having good sleep and bad sleep for most of the year.  My mind is at fault for having a hard time to getting to sleep or staying asleep for a steady night in the beginning. But soon enough, I have soon to discover that my mind is restless with the ways of the world and that sleep

Thirty-One.

Thirty-one.  31 was thought to be my lucky number.

Lost

Lost, lost, lost... that's how I've felt since the year began.

2011 produced a more stronger, a more loving and more independent me.

My Predictable Christmas

by Daphne Alvarez on December 08, 2011

Christmas tends to be more predictable than all the other times of the year.
