My first experience with Scam on Fanbox

When I got my computer(a gift), I posted a mail to my friend to tell her that.Being a computer instructor she always tried to introduce me in the computer world and even wondered why I didn’t make use of the cyber that was  only five houses away from my home. After she got the news of me being attached to internet she sent me a friends request for Fanbox. I accepted, just to do her a favour. The first week I got very few friends and fans.

One fan send me a friends request and an e-mail address .’She was tall, slim, single, never married, loved reading, sightseeing and whatever.’ I love reading  very much and sightseeing too so I thought I found a friend with whom I can exchanged my experiences. I replied to the email and she sent me one back with the promise  to tell me her story in the next email.I had to promise her something and yes I promise her not to tell people about the information she send me, because it could be dangerous for her in the refugee camp where she found shelter.

Only my sister and my son I told about it because I know they could keep a secret. Every night we were waiting for her email.

Than she told the story about her parents’  assasination  by rebels and how  she managed to escape and landed  in the refuge  camp because there was no place to go after she fled the village. She said she wanted to come to my country to stay and finish her study. She told about life situation in the camp and also about documents that she had with her which made it dangerous for her should anyone discover that in the camp. We start feeling very sorry for this girl.

I received a picture of her and a petition for help. ‘Her father left her money and she could not even lay hands on some of it to pay her study, but if I could help her to deposit the money into my account, than I could send some for her to pay her ticket and buy things that she needed. All of it sounded a little strange to us but we grew up with a “help culture”.

Her picture also arrived and we vieuw the picture over and over. Than my sister said that ‘this girl’ doesn’t look like she is
