Realistic Pencil Art Drawings

It’s hard to believe, but the pictures you’re about to see are not photographs – they were all drawn using a single pencil!

Paul Lung, a Hong Kong based graphic designer doesn’t even use an eraser – all he needs is a 0.5 mm technical pencil, A2 paper and some time. Well, about 60 hours!

His works are so photorealistic that people often don’t believe the pictures are not actual photographs. Paul even has to document his work process in order to prove his exceptional and amazing skills.

Beautiful Body Art

Body painting is a form of body art. Unlike tattoo and other forms of body art, body painting is temporary, painted onto the human skin, and lasts for only several hours, or at most (in the case of Mehndi or "henna tattoo") a couple of weeks. Body painting is also referred to as (a form of) temporary tattoo; large scale or full-body painting is more commonly referred to as body painting, while smaller or more detailed work is generally referred to as temporary tattoos.

Beautiful Leaf Art

Creating these leaf carvings is no easy process, taking the delicate precision from a skilled artisan. With a knife, the leaf is slowly scraped of its outer layers, eventually revealing a near transparent surface.  Special care is given to keep the veins intact to preserve the stability of the leaf.

Fake Painting Photographs

What you are about to see, are not paintings on canvas! Alexa Meade paints with acrylics directly on human flesh creating the illusion of painterly portraits.

“Alexa Meade is an installation artist based in the Washington, DC area. Her background in the world of political communications has fuelled her intellectual interest in the tensions between perception and reality.

Alexa Meade’s innovative use of paint on the three dimensional surfaces of found objects, live models, and architectural spaces has been incorporated into a series of installations that create a perceptual shift in how we experience and interpret spatial relationships.” (from her BIO)

Incredible LEGO Artworks

Some artists use paint, others bronze, but Nathan Sawaya chooses to build his awe-inspiring art out of toy building blocks. LEGO® bricks to be exact. The former corporate lawyer quit his job in 2001 to focus on becoming the world’s foremost LEGO artist. His unique Lego sculptures are exhibited and sold worldwide.

With more than 1.5 million colored bricks in his New York studio, Sawaya’s sculptures take many forms.
