Winter Break

Winter Break

Hi bloggers and fanbox readers! This is another random useless post by yours truly, haha. I just wanted to update people on why I haven't been doing any blogging the past few weeks. For one thing, there was the issue of writer's block. Not sure why, but I seem to have a terrible case of that haha.

The other reason was a little more fun. I have spent the winter scheming and petsitting, and doing my normal job at the restaurants in the student center. I was petsitting for my roommate, who has tons of fish and a few reptiles. She also has a cat named Kyo, but he went home with

A Blogger In Need...

hey anyone who may be reading this blog... which right now I hope a lot of people are because this one is really important... I really need your help this holiday season. Why, you ask?

My sister has been organizing a fundraiser the past couple of days for her best friend Shaun Bruno and his family. Shaun's mother went into cardiac arrest about a month ago and they didn't expect her to live. In the past month she has made leaps and bounds in her recovery, but is still not able to come home and surely cannot go back to work yet, leaving the bills piling up for Shaun and his brother.

Shaun has been my sister's friend for as long as I can

The Real Pit Bull

The Real Pit Bull

So, I know I haven't posted much lately but that is due to lack of a topic. Well, Now I have one. This is a post about pit bulls. Why, you ask? Well... A few things really, all tied into one. We used to "own" a pit, pits get a LOT of unwanted attention, and I recently saw a touching video and, after seeing that video, realized that I too know people who need to hear this.

My Pit Bull, Achilles

I used to have a pit bull. I refer to him as my own pit bull, even though he wasn't technically mine. He may as well have been, though... His name was Achilles. He was a pup born with no purpose; his real owner had friends with pit bulls that never bothered to get them fixed or separated them. His real owner was, at the time, my sister's boyfriend Andy. He took Achilles when he was just a pup, and loved that dog with everything he had. Eventually, however, he no longer had a place to keep the dog. This is how we came to acquire the dog for a time.

Andy came to my family in a time of need. He had been trying to get his own place but had not yet been able to do so. For a few months he and Achilles lived in our livingroom on our couch. I fell in love with the dog. At the time, my mom did not trust Pit Bulls because of what she had heard about them, but Achilles changed her mind. I remember her saying once that there was no way a dog like Achilles could ever be a figher; he was just too sweet.

The dog no longer lives with us; after Andy found a place he and the dog moved elsewhere. I don't see much of the lovable little Pit but I still think of him anytime I find myself sticking up for the breed. He is a perfect example that a dog, with the right people, can beat the stereotype and become more than just a pet, but your sibling, child, protector.

Video- The Real Pit Bull

Ok, so this is why I wanted to post this. On the facebook page for my pre-vet club yesterday, I saw the president post this video. It made me think of Achilles and it actually brought tears to my eyes. It is a good representation of what a pit bull can be if given a real chance in the world, and I

New Job! ^_^

New Job ^_^

So now to cool down from my rant and give any readers something interesting to read about that isn't a rant... I GOT A NEW JOB! ^_^

I applied a few days ago at like 5 different places on campus. The campus dining services all have the same application to put it at different stores... anyway, so I printed out 5 and filled them all out. I put two in at one location called Memorial Student Union and 3 in at the stores in the bookstore. Well, apparently, the manager that hires for Starbucks in MSU (one of the two places I went for in there) also hires for the second place I applied for xD he wanted my hours of availability and i never heard back afterwards until after i got this job.

So similar to one guy getting two applications, my new manager also got
