Making Her a Memorable Breakfast in Bed

  I'll admit it, it sounds a bit cliché and, since I do this so often, a lot of people might think it losing meaning. However, I have managed to make this enjoyable for her each time by following a few simple rules.

First, it doesn't have to be a special occasion. Yes, breakfast in bed is a great way to start her birthday or our anniversary off right. But, I found it has more meaning when it's random. Most of the time, it's on a Sunday morning (mostly because Saturday night is when we watch our late night movies). But, I have changed things up by making it for her on other days too. I've even gone into work late just to surprise her before I left.

Second, timing is everything. My wife is not a morning person so the last thing I want to do is wake her in the middle of a dream. But, if I wait for her to be fully awake, there's a good chance she'll get out of bed before I can surprise her. I found the best time to serve the breakfast is just as she is first starting to wake up, something I'm very accurate at predicting after more than 9 years of marriage.
